Former St. Peter Presbyterian Church attendee Dennis Cochran, also known as "Dennis the Poet," has written some new lyrics for The Eagles tune, Hotel California. He's entitled his new song, Hotel Sproul and Windham, in honor of the defrocking his former pastors RC Sproul Jr and Laurence Windham.

RC Sproul, Jr. and Laurence Windham are pastors at St. Peter Presbyterian Church in Mendota Virginia and Bristol Virginia.

Every Thought Captive Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe CornLike so many other victims of RC Sproul Jr.'s slanders, Dennis Cochran was smeared in a "slanderfest" as "The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn" in the May/June 2004 edition of the Highland's Study Center publication Every Thought Captive. Dennis was caricatured in a very mocking fashion on the front cover of that Every Thought Captive edition.

Like so many others, Dennis Cochran was "lured" to Bristol, Virginia by RC's teaching. But after a brief time at St. Peter Presbyterian Church, Dennis became of the opinion that RC Sproul Jr. and Laurence Windham were cult leaders, and that St. Peter wasn't a Presbyterian Church, but a cult.

So, hit the print key, then take the wife out on a date to the local karaoke bar, and have some fun! Or if you like you can Karaoke to the Hotel Sproul and Windham right at home!

Hotel Sproul and Windham

-Musical Satire-

(sung to the tune of Hotel California)
lyrics by Dennis W. Cochran
December 28, 2005

On a dark desert highway

Jet plane in the air

Just don't count on a refund

Of your bus or plane fare

Heading out to the South for

You thought you saw a great light

It feels so heady as they draw you in

One day it won't seem so right

Just take a look at the doorway

It's broad as you can tell

If you come in then disagree

You might just think it's the doorway to hell

So they light up their death weed

Or put some in their cheeks

Sick or addicted it's the price you pay

To be "freedom" freaks

(chorus)

Welcome to the Hotel Sproul and Windham

Such an ugly place

So devoid of grace

Come and get fooled at the Hotel Sproul and Windham

Such a sad surprise

Will you hide your eyes?

Alcohol for the captives

Swim in beer and wine

For you see, excess will drown the Spirit's voice

So don't think they'll decline

How they drink in their backyards!

Swill and don't sweat

Save some for your children

Play poker and bet

There's pastor Macho Mid-lifer

Does he love family life?

He's shown an eye for young and pretty girls

Avoids his wife

But now the people you knew

Are so far away

Shakes you up to think they might have been right

When they told you "Stay"

(chorus)

Welcome to the Hotel Sproul and Windham

What a strange affair

Why did you leave there?

Gathering gloom at the Hotel Sproul and Windham

As the shepherds here

Choose to bind through fear

Terrorists unfeeling

Will think your pain is vice

When you say, "I don't like your dictator ways."

Children pay the price

And in the master's basement

They gather to record

They pack it with their sneaky lies

But you just can't fool the Lord

Poor Saint Peter member!

As you're running for the door

They try to block the passage back

To the place you were before

"Stay back!" say the nightmares. "It's our duty to deceive.

"If you check out and we don't say 'Fine'

"Then you can never leave."

(chorus)

Welcome to the Hotel Sproul and Windham

Though at first it's nice

They're as cold as ice

They're livin' a lie at the Hotel Sproul and Windham

Yes, it does insult

But it is a cult

Welcome to the Hotel Sproul and Windham

Is delirium

Presbyterian?

Your baptism saves at the Hotel Sproul and Windham

Hope the truth will sway

RPCGA

(Hope they rid themselves of Sproul and Windham)
